Sellina Peedoly-Neenan
Y6 Teacher (Curie)
Sellina's parents came to the UK in the 1970s from Mauritius to join the NHS. She grew up in Wokingham, going to infant, junior and secondary school here.
At university, she studied Psychology and Cultural Studies and went on to study for a post-graduate qualification in Psychology. She has had the pleasure of supporting and teaching a wide range of pupils in various educational settings. After university, Sellina worked in supporting roles as a Teaching Assistant (for a special needs school and for a secondary school) and also for the local authority's behaviour and emotional support team.
She then went on to complete her teacher training with West Berkshire, specialising in teaching KS2. Much of her 15-year teaching career has been spent in Bristol Primary schools. In her previous schools, she has been responsible for leading on English as well as Equalities and PSHE.
Sellina and her husband chose to return to Wokingham last year so that her two sons (aged 2 and 4) could grow up near her family. Her spare time is spent enjoying it with her family and settling into their new home and the next chapter of their lives in Wokingham. She also enjoys catching up with friends and celebrating her cultural heritage with a close-knit community of Mauritians who are spread all over the UK.
