Sophie Hobbs
Reception Teacher (Anning) & EY Cluster Lead
Sophie joined Floreat in September 2019 after working at a large village primary school in Buckinghamshire for over seven years. During these years, Sophie not only worked in various classroom support roles across many different year groups but also trained to be a primary school teacher at Oxford Brookes University, graduating with an English specialism primary degree. Whilst studying, Sophie worked for a year as an unqualified teacher and this is where her love for Early Years was born. She is passionate about developing the holistic child as well teaching the academic curriculum.
Outside of school, Sophie works in a volunteer role at the Wokingham Foodbank and assists at the weekends with supermarket collections. Recently married, she enjoys exploring new countries with her husband, spending time with family and friends, diving into a good book, cooking and buying many toys for her usual combination of pets (a cat and a mouse!).
