Maria Quirant

Maria is Spanish and has been living in the UK for 3 years. She joined Floreat Montague Park as a Teaching Assistant in October 2018 working in Year 1 and Year 3. In 2020, Maria undertook her School Centred Initial Teacher Training (SCITT) with GLF Teaching School. She is an English graduate with an MSc in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages from the University of Aberdeen. She has worked as an EFL Teacher in diverse settings, languages academies and at university level. She has also taught Spanish in the Language Centre at Aberdeen University. She very much enjoys teaching and learning languages, working with children and being creative.

Maria is helping develop the teaching of languages around the school and wants to learn more about the MFL curriculum. Outside of school, Maria enjoys dancing for fitness, painting, cooking and going for walks. She also loves reading and socialising with friends. She usually travels back to Spain to visit her family and friends.
