Melanie James
Reception Teacher (Anning)
Melanie was born and grew up in Wales. She trained as a teacher at Swansea University and in 1995, gained a Bachelor of Arts Honours with a Qualified Teacher Status. Her first teaching role was in a school in Chigwell, Essex, where she worked for 4 years before living in Australia for 9 months. She then taught at The Marist Preparatory School in Ascot for 21 years. She taught Early Years, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2. She was part of the Senior Leadership Team whilst leading Early Years and Key Stage 1. Melanie is passionate about Outdoor Learning and the Creative Curriculum and is excited to continue these whilst teaching at Floreat Montague Park.
Outside of school life, Melanie has two girls of her own who are 11 and 13. She enjoys spending time with her family, walking Ned their dog, swimming, reading, travelling and visiting family and friends back in Wales.
