Melanie Jordaan
Teaching Assistant
After a career living and working across Africa, Melanie returned home to the UK with her husband and two children in 2015. On arrival, she started working as the Clerk to Governors at a local junior school in order to gain an understanding of the internal mechanisms of an English school, which came in handy when her own children started school.
Many moons ago, Melanie completed a post-graduate year at the Universidad de Leon in Spain studying Spanish as a foreign language. She decided to finally put it to good use and since September 2016 she has taught Spanish in a local primary school to children aged 3-11.
Outside of the classroom, Melanie enjoys running, mountain biking with her family, cooking, going for walks and Scouting – she is the Assistant Beaver Scout Leader at a vibrant colony in Wokingham. She is also an avid reader of children's books and loves a well-stocked school library.
